Rotherhithe Consolidated Charities grants

Back to newsRotherhithe Consolidated Charities launched its new grants priorities to the public at The Lake Gallery, Southwark Park, on 7 March. The event was opened by The Worshipful Mayor of Southwark. The new priorities are:
- Community grants to organisations that support residents in need living in the charity’s area of benefit. Applicants are required to contact the RCC Clerk for a discussion prior to online application.
- Stipends for older people of state pension age (66 years) or above that have been living in the charity’s area of benefit for at least 5 years and evidencing low incomes or low savings.
- Referral hardship grants for adults living in the charity’s area of benefit, evidencing low incomes and no/low savings, to purchase essential household goods such as a new bed, cooker, washing machine. Applications must be made by a recognised voluntary/public sector organisation that provides direct support to residents in the charity’s area of benefit (i.e. individuals may not apply direct).
Southwark Charities was appointed by RCC’s board to manage its day to day operations, following an independent review of the charity’s giving and local needs in 2022. Rotherhithe Consolidated Charities has a long history of charitable giving in its area of benefit, The Ancient Parish of Rotherhithe, an area comprising Rotherhithe ward, Surrey Docks ward and small parts of North Bermondsey, South Bermondsey and Old Kent Road wards in the London Borough of Southwark.
