Setting the standard for place based grant-making

We are delighted that The Institute of Voluntary Action Research (IVAR) has reviewed our progress against the 8 ‘Open and Trusting‘ funder commitments and concluded that:

Southwark Charities are an excellent example of how a place based funder should operate.

This is excellent feedback and confirmation of our good grant-making practices and processes implemented since the arrival of our first Grants Manager in April 2022. During this time we have significantly increased of our grant funding of Southwark’s voluntary and community organisations that improve the wellbeing of Southwark’s older residents to £500,000 per annum currently.
